Tuesday 28th August we welcomed all our new first year students to our school. They began their Induction Day outside around “Fuinneamh an tSaoil” where Mrs Finnegan welcomed them and spoke about our wishes for them ; to be happy in school, be friendly and kind to each other and to work hard always, so each one of them can achieve to their very best. Like our school sculpture which soars into the air we want our first years to have high ambitions for their own progress in secondary school. They made their own wishes as they walked through the portal part of our sculpture . Mr Irwin then addressed them followed by their year head Ms Brennan and chaplain Mrs Breen. Following a short break, they met with other class teachers who took them on a tour of the school, had their individual photos taken and they then enjoyed some Ice breaker activities with Mrs Kirwan and Ms Kelly in the PE Hall. After Lunch, provided by Emma’s Cafe (our catering partner), the students were divided into their three classes and met their Class Tutors and got some time to ask questions and get familiar with the school routines. Over the past week , they have settled in extremely well and are quickly getting to know their way around and getting down to their work. We wish them every success in their years with us.
