An Ghaeilge i bPobalscoil na Gailinne

Déantar gach iarracht an Ghaeilge a mhúineadh i mbealach taitneamhach, spreagúil agus ar ardchaighdeán anseo i bPobalscoil na Gailinne. Cuirtear béim ar an teanga chumarsáideach sa rang agus i dtimpeallacht na scoile. Is iomaí ócáid agus gníomhaíochtaí a cheiliúrtar i gcaitheamh na bliana, idir Lá Idirnáisiúnta na dTeangacha, Comhrá ’19, Gaeilge 24 agus Seachtain na Gaeilge chun cion don Ghaeilge a chothú i measc scoláirí Phobalscoil na Gailinne. Anuas air sin, beidh an Roinn Gaeilge agus scoláirí na dara bliana gnóthach ag ullmhú do Dhíospóireachtaí Gael Linn i mbliana agus is iontach an deis í seo, cur lena gcuid saibhreas teanga. Dírítear ar litríocht na hArdteistiméireachta chomh maith, trí thurais a eagrú chuig drámaí ar nós an Triail agus Toraíocht Dhiarmada agus Ghráinne. Tuigtear freisin, go mbíonn éagsúlacht cumais ann i measc scoláirí agus chuige sin, déantar gach iarracht tacaíocht leanúnach a chur ar fáil do scoláirí ar a n-aistear teanga. Lena cois sin, bíonn deis ag scoláirí sa Dara agus sa Chúigiú Bliain cur isteach ar Scoláireacht Gaeltachta a bhuí leis an LOETB. Ar deireadh, is mór an onóir don Roinn Gaeilge, céad teanga na hÉireann a mhúineadh don chéad ghlúin eile agus táimid tiomanta do gach treoir agus cúnamh a thabhairt do scoláirí Phobalscoil na Gailinne, chun a mbarrchumas a bhaint amach.

An Ghaeilge in Gallen Community School

Every effort is made to teach Gaeilge to the highest standard in an enjoyable and motivating way here in Gallen Community School. Emphasis is put on conversational language both in class and throughout the school environment. Various events and activities are celebrated during the year such as International Languages Day, Comhrá ‘19, Gaeilge 24 agus Seachtain na Gaeilge. These events are organised by an Roinn Gaeilge to motivate andto foster a love for Gaeilge among the students in Gallen Community School. As well as that, an Roinn Gaeilge and second year students will be busy preparing for the Gael Linn Debating Competition this year which is a great opportunity for students to add to their language skills. Trips to Leaving Certificate dramas such as an Triail and Toraíocht Dhiarmada agus Ghráinne are also organised to bring the literature to life. We understand that students have various abilities and every effort is made to provide them with ongoing support to students on their language journey. Students in Second and Fifth Year also have an opportunity to apply for a Gaeltacht Scholarship which is funded by the LOETB. Finally, it is an honour for us in an Roinn Gaeilge, to teach our first language to the next generation and we are committed to giving every support and help to the students of Gallen Community School in reaching their full potential.
