TYs TRIP TO BEFAST – Last Thursday the Ty’s accompanied by four teachers made a trip to Belfast where they visited the Titanic Museum followed a bus tour of some of the sites of the city including the Shank hill and Falls Roads, the famous mural wall and as the photo shows they also made a stop outside Stormont building. A great day was had by all. Mr Dunican gave all students a Newsletter last week to keep parents informed of TY events.
JUNIOR LADIES FOOTBALL – After their great season last year the Gallen C.S. Ladies Football team, playing at a higher grade this year got off to a great start beating Moate by 3-12 to 3-10 in the Championship. The team and scorers were – Luz Corrigan, Amanda Keena , Emma Maher, Aimee Kelly, Kate Egan [1-0] Grainne Kenny, Tara Dunican, Anna Grehan, Andrea Arnold, Ffion Boland[0-1] Sinead Egan [1-0]Kaitlin Rigney , Shauna Heffernan [1-7] Ava Flynn [0-4] Roisin Cockram .

JUNIOR RUGBY-
Our lads got the season off to a good start by defeating Athlone CC by 22-17 in the Connacht League. Team – Ruairi Carroll, Shane Murphy , David Gavin, Sean Ibbotson , Aaron o Reilly, Griffin Dunican, Conor Kenny , Ethan Rowe mc Cormack, Max Feehan, Sean Flynn, Michael Egan , Jamie Kelly , Luke Gavin Mangan and Nathan Poland.
SPORTS AWARDS NIGHT– takes place this Friday at 730pm in Gallen C.S. Our All Ireland winning basketball team , our Connacht Junior Development Rugby cup winners and our Leinster Junior Ladies football Champions will all be honoured on the night.
