CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE LEAVING CERTIFICATE STUDENTS : CLASS OF 2015
August has been a very good month to our Leaving Cert students class of 2015. On August 4th we shared a wonderful Graduation with the students and their families and both the meal and the entertainment were excellent! The management of the Bridge House has the highest praise for this group but it was nothing more than we expect from our Graduates each year .
We are delighted that our Leaving Certificate class of 2015 performed so well in their exams and it was with pride and pleasure that we were able to hand out their results two weeks ago. As usual consistent hard work pays off and the students who put in the effort were justly rewarded. The joy of results day was tempered by nervousness waiting on CAO offers and the media didn’t allay the fears of many as early morning news reports highlighted increases in lots of courses in IT’s and Universities. However the vast majority of students were pleased with their offers and over the last week we have been in touch with them to see where they are heading too. We have students going to study all over the country from UCC in Cork , UL , Mary I and LIT in Limerick, NUI Maynooth and Galway , to UCD , DIT /Trinity, Carlow and Sligo IT and of course a lot of students are taking up offers closer to home in Athlone Institute of Technology . We have students who were offered places from UCAS also and are still deciding . We also have a good number of students taking up PLC courses in Moate, Templemore and Carlow colleges of Further Education and a few awaiting work of apprenticeships and work. To each one of these students we wish you the very best of luck as you start out on your new journey . We thank you for your contribution to our school over the years from the academic to cultural, social, musically, sport and we are pleased that you took all the opportunities that our school provides. As we said last May at our graduation mass always aspire to do well, reach for the stars, work hard , value life and show kindness and respect for those you meet each day. Good luck to you all !
