Gallen CS welcomed Bishop Francis Duffy, who is one of the Patrons of our school, on Thursday last. A very reverential prayer service took place on the theme of Friendship with all the school present. Some first year students ended the prayer service with a Liturgical mine. Bishop Francis spoke of how important it is to be proud of your school and its identity citing Gallen’s recent successes in football , basketball , rugby , Scor and our Musical. Bishop Francis spoke of the importance of working hard at school and being a good christian and a good friend. Bishop Francis later chatted with members of the student council, school choir, staff and concluded his visit with a visit to meet the staff and students in our Cluny Centre.
OPEN NIGHT- We welcomed a great crowd to our school last Tuesday 27th for our Open Night and delighted that so many prospective first years and their parents visited us and saw what a wonderful school we have in Ferbane. Thanks to all those who made the night such a success on Tuesday last.
CALAMITY JANE – Yes folks it’s that time of year again when Gallen CS puts on its annual Musical. This year’s show is Calamity Jane and the show runs nightly in Gallen CS from Tuesday February 10th to Friday February 13th inclusive. Those who wish to purchase tickets for the show can contact the school.
CONGRATS – to our Senior Footballers who have qualified for the North Leinster Senior B football Final by virtue of a 1-12 to 0-12 win over Boyne CS in St Loans Mullingar on Friday last. Ryan Heavin’s penalty goal sealed the win and all at Gallen CS extend best wishes for a speedy recovery to Mikey Butler. Gallen play O Carolan College Nobber in the Final.
