STUDY SKILLS FOR FIFTH YEARS
Last Monday morning Kevin Redmond from Super Generation conducted an excellent Study Skills workshop with the fifth years. He challenged the students into looking at how they concentrate or not, how our brain works better by integrating both right and left brain work when studying. Kevin show them the “POKER ” method of study which is excellent for both learning to organise their study and then use proper study techniques. All students agreed it was a very worthwhile morning.

DONATION TO CLUNY CENTRE BY GREG DOOLEY
Last Friday local Ferbane man, Greg Dooley visited the Cluny Centre to present a cheque for €4,000 euro to the school and to the Unit specifically from his fundraising efforts. Staff and students welcomed Greg and he explained how over the past two years he has raised over €30,000 for different charities in honour of his wife Emma who was tragically killed over two years ago. Mr Irwin , Mrs Finnegan and all the staff of the Cluny Centre were extremely grateful for this generous denotion . Greg spoke with the students and got a tour of the Facility by the students and saw some of the specialist equipment that has been purchased for the students. Mrs Connor and Ms Buckley explained to him what they hope to purchase with his money . Greg told us that he intends to continue his travels and fundraising with a walk to Kilimanjaro later in this year and he would like to be able to contribute to the Cluny Centre again. On behalf of the staff but more especially the students a very big thank you to Greg.
