Junk Kouture is an all-Ireland competition for second level students, where they are challenged to create high fashion Couture outfits from old every day junk. As ERP Ireland is sponsoring the competition this year each creation has to incorporate an item of electrical waste with a special prize awarded for its most inspired and creative use. ERP Ireland is part of a European company set up in 2002 in response to the European Union Directive on recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment. Since its establishment ERP has collected and treated over 1 million tonnes of EEE.
Voting will take place the week before the regional final online, this means that the students costumes can get up to 10% of the points before they go to the regional final in Athlone so we will be relying on all students , staff, community and friends to vote for our costumes and details on how we can vote will be posted as soon as we know.
