OPEN NIGHT
Thanks to everyone who made our Annual Open Night for prospective students in 2017-18 a successful occasion last Tuesday night.Thank you to the 6th class students and their parents who attended on the night. Thank you to the teachers who helped in any way to make the evening such a positive experience. The school was a hive of activity on the evening.
Mrs Finnegan , Mrs Scully , Mrs Mc Hugh and Mr Mulhall spoke to the students and parents about different aspects of life at Gallen CS.
The 6th class students and their parents were then taken on a tour of Gallen CS before a most enjoyable evening was rounded off with refreshments.
JUNIOR RUGBY
After their narrow loss against cup favourites Garbally in the previous Group match our Junior Rugby team under the tutelage of Mr McGrath travelled to Galway city where they had an excellent 12-7 win over traditional rugby kingpins The Bish.
Cathal Flynn scored 2 tries and a conversion to give Gallen a 12-0 lead before the Bish scored a try and conversion to leave the final score Gallen CS 12 Bish 7.

Next up for the lads is Sligo Grammar.
SENIOR FOOTBALL
Well done to our Senior footballers who qualified for the North Leinster Senior Colleges B Final by virtue of a 2-11 to1-4 victory over Granard. Gallen now play Dunshaughlin CC in the final with a date of Saturday February 4th a possibility.

Rehearsals continue for “My Fair Lady “. The show takes place on Tuesday February 14, Wednesday February 15 , Thursday February 16 and the finale takes place on Friday February 17. Any parents or business person who would like to put in an advertisement in our Musical Programme are asked to contact the school before Friday 3rd
