Gallen C.S defeated in North Leinster Final
Gallen C.S, Ferbane 0-8 Colaiste De Lacy (Ashbourne) 2-6
Hard luck to Gallen CS on their recent defeat to Col de Lacy of (Ashbourne). The Gallen boys worked tirelessly and tried everything but sometimes you need a little luck, unfortunately Gallen just didn’t get it! The weather had a big influence on the game and in the first half Gallen played into a strong wind. Sean Carroll got the first two opening points of the game while Col de Lacy led 1-4 to 0-2 at half time.
Into the second half and Gallen CS never gave up. Sean Flannery scored two points, Sean Carroll a further two points and then points from Jamie Probin and Ronan Flynn gave the Gallen side a real chance. Unfortunately Gallen just couldn’t get that goal! The boys gave it their all. They hit the crossbar twice and in the latter stages of the game, Sean Flannery had a pile driver of a shot saved by their goalie. Col de Lacy scored a late goal and this helped the Ashbourne side to hold on.
Reaching a Leinster final is a massive achievement. Well done boys on all your hard work throughout the year.
