Despite the wind and rain , Lynx cycling club members and friends from Tullamore, Birr , Portumna, Daingean and Banagher turned out for their annual charity cycle last Saturday in aid of our Autism Centre. They gathered in the school from 9am and the 100km cyclists began at 10am closely followed by those that completed the 50km and 30 km at 10.30a.m. The pit stop for the longer cycle was in the Cluny Centre where there was lots of food, tea, coffee and chat on offer and all cyclists came in for refreshments when they completed their routes also. A big thank you to the ladies who prepared the sandwiches and all who donated buns, tarts and cakes. Thanks to the men on motorbikes who provided great escorts for us and allowed the cycle to run so smoothly along the routes and especially through the town of Birr. From all of us in the Cluny Centre and our school thank you to all who took part last Saturday morning.
