Thursday 22nd May was a very busy day in Gallen CS. Joshua Connon and his friends in TY led the way on the Canal with the 7km rowing challenge and friends from the school and the community of Ferbane supported this challenge by walking the 7km. Fundraising to purchase a single scull boat has gone better than expected .
At 7pm there was a Presentation of Certificates to all the TY students in the multi purpose hall. A number of TYs gave short presentations on different aspects of TY and what they had gained from the year ranging from their work experience programme to sports events, enterprise, winning another Green Flag on Energy, trips away and the fun and teamwork with their friends. Joshua talked about the fundraising for Float our Boat and thanked all who had assisted him over the last month. The “student of the year” in each TY class was Rachel Hanniffy, Megan Digan and Ciara Flynn. See Gallery for photos.
At 8pm Ms Reynolds hosted a music recital where students show cased their talent in singing and performing. It was a very enjoyable night and the standard of performance gets better each year. Thanks to all the students who sang, played piano, guitar, did solos and performed in groups. Thanks to Ms Reynolds for her encouragement to our students to perform at the monthly recitals and at the end of year concert. See Gallery for photos.
